The mission of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Central Alabama (BGCCA) is to provide facilities, programs, and leadership to enable all youth to develop and achieve their maximum potential in accordance with Judeo-Christian principles. Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Alabama provides program opportunities for 13,000 boys and girls each year. BGCCA provides after school and summer programs in six key areas: character and leadership; education and career; health and life skills; the arts; sports, fitness, and recreation; and outdoor environmental education. BGCCA was started in 1901 as Birmingham Boys Club, and is currently celebrating its 111th anniversary. Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Alabama was a founding member of Boys & Girls Clubs of America in 1906.
