The three scores in this directory
The supplied historical dataset includes an overall score (score), a financial score (fscore), and an accountability-and-transparency score (ascore), each described as out of 100. They are displayed as separate fields on every profile. DonorAPI.com does not recalculate the overall score from the other two or add a new rating.
Historical context matters
The collection was scraped in May 2019 and mostly uses rating details from 2017. The source does not provide a precise rating date for each row. A current webpage or a newly published article on this site does not make those historical numbers current.
How score browsing works
The score directory groups the recorded overall values into four numeric bands for navigation. Each band lists its members alphabetically and links to the same full profiles used elsewhere. These bands are not official current star ratings, awards, or endorsements.
What a source score does not establish
The three numeric fields do not provide every scoring input, a complete account of program outcomes, current legal status, or authentication of a donation request. Read the mission and financial sections alongside the score, then identify the additional evidence appropriate to your question.
External methodology reference
Charity Navigator’s own rating methodology is an external source for its approach. Do not silently apply a newer methodology to older source fields or treat a contemporary label as though it appeared in the uploaded record.
