descriptionMission & description | Chinese for Affirmative Action (CAA) was founded in 1969 to protect the civil and political rights of Chinese Americans and to advance multiracial democracy in the United States. Today, CAA is a progressive voice in and on behalf of the broader Asian and Pacific American community. We advocate for systemic change that protects immigrant rights, promotes language diversity, and remedies racial injustice. CAA employs multiple strategies to create change. At the grassroots level, we nurture the ability of Asian and Pacific American communities to participate fully in civic life. At the public policy level, we advocate for systemic changes that create a more just and equitable society. Throughout our work we seek to build and foster alliances that strengthen and sustain a progressive Asian and Pacific American movement. |
