What this organization describes

Build a healthy community by building a healthy child.
Established in 1998, CHIP is a statewide program that focuses on improvement of children's health through ensuring that low-income children have medical homes and provision of resources and support services for their families. CHIP of South Hampton Roads provides a continuum of prevention and early intervention programs, universal screening for at risk factors associated with poor health outcomes, and appropriate service levels based on children's and families' strengths and needs. The health of our community depends on our ability to raise healthy, happy children who will enter school ready to learn. CHIP offers a continuum of service that are tailored to meet the needs of all parents with children ages 0 to 6.
