descriptionMission & description | The mission of The Mockingbird Society™ is to transform foster care and end youth homelessness. We do this through advocacy and innovation. We provide training and a platform for young people with lived experience to make their voice heard by those with the power to change policies and practices that affect foster and homeless youth. Over the past 17 years, we have led efforts to enact more than 30 major reforms and numerous other administrative practice changes. We also invented an innovative foster care delivery model that is currently being piloted and/or adopted locally, nationally, and internationally; it shows promise to improve wellbeing outcomes for foster youth, including reducing exits from the system to homelessness. |
