What this organization describes

Building businesses, changing lives.

Ventures empowers individuals with limited resources and unlimited potential to improve their lives through small business ownership. Founded in 1995, we have adapted the Grameen model-a microfinance model that makes small loans to groups of disadvantaged women-to the Puget Sound region and the business landscape in the United States, providing business training, financial support, and resources tailored to low-income entrepreneurs. We are a certified Community Development Financial Institution and a Small Business Administration Microloan Program Intermediary lender. Ventures is a national leader in microenterprise development, offering effective programming, sustainable operations, and innovative growth strategies to create an always-increasing impact on our community. Prior to the spring of 2015, Ventures was known as Washington Community Alliance for Self-Help (CASH).
