descriptionMission & description | Communities In Schools of Chicago is a dropout prevention organization that works. Our model is backed by data and rigorous research. This year we are partnering with 135 Chicago public schools, helping more than 50,000 students succeed and stay in school. We do our work by connecting schools with needed programs and services and providing one-on-one and group counseling to specific students. Our team of 30 professionals relies on a set of organizational core values that guide our approach to working and serving students, schools and the community-at-large. We began working in Chicago in 1988, and have a rich history of serving, in total, more than 900,000 Chicago students. The mission of CIS of Chicago is to surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life. |
