Ending Hunger and Transforming the Health of Santa Barbara County
The Foodbank of Santa Barbara County's mission is to provide nourishment to those in need by acquiring and distributing safe nutritious foods via local agencies and providing education to solve hunger and nutritional problems in Santa Barbara County. During 2012, the Foodbank of Santa Barbara County distributed 11.5 million pounds of food (of which four million pounds was fresh produce) from two warehouse locations in Santa Barbara and Santa Maria. In 2012, over 140,000 people in Santa Barbara County were served by the Foodbank's member agency network of 300 nonprofit social service agencies and programs.
