descriptionMission & description | Boy Scouts of America - Great Smoky Mountain Council works to serve others by helping instill values in young people and in other ways prepare them to make ethical choices over their lifetime in achieving their full potential. The Council serves several thousand boys in the core program of Cub Scouting, the foundation for the character and values programs of Scouting. Almost 3,000 boys are served in the Boy Scouting program. This program is all about character and values education, citizenship, and fitness at all levels. Activities and camping programs are provided by the council for the benefit of members and units. Activities that focus on human service needs are also offered, including hunger, illiteracy, drug abuse, child abuse training, and crime prevention. |
