descriptionMission & description | Securing America's Future Energy (SAFE) is a non-partisan, non-profit organization committed to reducing the United States' dependence on oil. Led by its Energy Security Leadership Council (ESLC), SAFE brings together some of America's most prominent business and military leaders in support of comprehensive, long-term strategies to reduce U.S. oil dependence and improve energy security. Co-chaired by Frederick W. Smith, Chairman, President, and CEO of FedEx Corporation and General James Conway (Ret.), the 34th Commandant of the Marine Corps, SAFE and its ESLC work aggressively to build bipartisan support for both supply- and demand-side solutions that include the efficient use of oil to lower the oil intensity of the economy, increased domestic energy production to strengthen the economy and lower our balance of payments, and accelerating new technology, business models and a diversity of fuel options to meet our future transportation needs. |
