Founded in 1973, TreePeople is an independent environmental organization that works to inspire, engage and support the people of Los Angeles to take personal responsibility for the urban environment, making it safe, healthy, fun and sustainable - and to share the results as a model for the world. TreePeople is an environmental organization that unites the power of trees, people and technology to grow a sustainable future for Los Angeles. We achieve our mission by training and supporting communities to plant and care for trees; educating schoolchildren and adults about environmental issues; demonstrating sustainable solutions to urban ecosystem problems; working with government agencies on critical water issues and Operate a beautiful public park.
