descriptionMission & description | The purpose of the Virginia Mason Health System is to advance and support the healthcare and research missions of the Virginia Mason Medical Center and Benaroya Research Institute at Virginia Mason. The Health System achieves this purpose through governance oversight of both organizations and development support provided by its division the Virginia Mason Foundation. In 2007, the activities of the Health System helped to support 73,989 patient stays in the Medical Center, 813,142 out-patient visits to the Medical Center and the Research Institute's conduct of $18.2 million of sponsored research for the purpose of advancing the health of the Medical Center patients. |
